Running Giveaway + BTS of Our Kickstarter Video Shoot!

A lot has happened since our last update! For starters, we partnered with 6 other emerging running brands to launch a ‘Running Essentials’ Giveaway on Instagram that ends on Friday, March 29th. The winner of this giveaway will receive over $500 in running goodies, including a Hydroshirt! P.S. The winner of this giveaway will be the FIRST person to receive a Hydroshirt. 😱

Check out our post on Instagram for more details on how to get entered into the giveaway.

Now, onto some even juicier news 🥁- drumroll, please - 🥁 we're gearing up to announce the official launch date for our Kickstarter campaign in the next update! What I will share for now, is we’re less than two months away from going live.

And lastly, we recently filmed our promo video that will be used for our Kickstarter campaign. There is so much that goes into filming, so a big shoutout to JJ over at 8:45a for helping us navigate this process. Check out some of our BTS shots from our shoots, hot off the press!

I also wanted to give a huge shoutout to our incredible talent that partook in the making of this video. These three awesome people deserve a spotlight, so below I’ve written a bit more about their work and impact in our running community/industry.

Justin Williams - Unseen Run Club

Justin is the Founder of Unseen Run Club, an eclectic running collective in the SF Bay Area. Unseen got started in 2023 with a mission to create a space that celebrates the differences in every runner. “The crew’s approach revolves around inclusivity, shattering the conventional image of who a runner should be” highlighted in Running Crews feature of Unseen. P.S. Justin just ran the LA Marathon over the weekend. Congrats!

For me, Unseen has been a key staple in my first year living in San Francisco; the community, camaraderie and safe space Justin has been able to create is why I find myself showing up every Monday evening for their Mission 5k’s.

Ayako Sawanobori

Ayako is one of the Team Lead’s of the Anti Racist Run Club and a team member of Dirtbags Run. ARRC is a run club in the Bay Area using running as a common denominator to enact change for today's racial injustices.

I met Ayako back in 2020 during a run that was put on by the Anti Racist Run Club. Over the years we’ve found ourselves in similar spaces, especially now that I’m living in San Francisco. She’s not only active in the community, but she’s a big cheerleader for other leaders who are doing great work.

Bertrand Newsom (aka Coach B) - Too Legit Fitness

Coach B is the Founder of Too Legit Fitness. He is also the Co-founder and Lead Coach for the Coaches of Color Initiative (funded by 80/20 Endurance), a program designed to get more coaches of color into endurance sports. Most recently, Coach B joined the Big Sur Marathon Foundation as the Community Engagement Manager.

I can’t say enough great things about Coach B and the Too Legit Fitness squad. Coach B was part of my journey in completing my first marathon. I’ll never forget when Jalen and I started working with Coach B, the very first Too Legit run he invited us to was a Wednesday morning 5:30 am track workout in the cold Fall season. We took him up on his invitation, the rest of the Too Legit Fitness crew welcomed us with arms wide open and from there on out, we became accustomed to waking up every Wednesday at 4:45 AM to make it to track, aka “Hammer Time”.

Justin, Ayako and Coach B, thanks so much for all the work you do in our community/industry. If you haven’t already followed them, be sure to do so after this!
